DIET AND NUTRITION

Jennifer Lane RD

Jennifer Lane, RD, completed her degree in Nutritional Sciences in Toronto at The Metropolitan University (previously known as Ryerson University) and completed her dietetic internship at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Jennifer has previously worked as a Registered Dietitian at Women's College Hospital in their Diabetes Education Program. She is currently practicing as a Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator at Lakeridge Health. Her areas of expertise include diabetes management, heart health, weight management, and digestive health. By working together with her clients, Jennifer tailors her approach to the individual to help them reach their healthy eating goals with ease and sustainability. She is available for virtual and in-person sessions, including practical Grocery Store Tours with patients at our local Leaside Village Longo's.

MENTAL HEALTH

Danielle Kirshenbaum MSW, RSW

Danielle Kirshenbaum, MSW, has dedicated over a decade of her career as a mental health therapist, honing her expertise in notable hospital settings. Specializing in Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mindfulness, she brings a trauma-informed perspective to every session. Danielle will work with you and your healthcare team to assist you in finding new ways of coping with whatever is causing you distress so that you can begin to feel like YOU again. Danielle is a compassionate therapist who truly cares about her clients and their well-being. 

Danielle has graciously offered free initial consults to the Leaside/Thorncliffe community and Leaside Village patients. 

Cost ranges between $170-$200 per individual session. 

Dr. Jennifer Brownstein

Jennifer Brownstein PsyD has worked for the past several years as a psychologist at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School. She specializes in acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), behavioural medicine and positive psychology. She is known for her “Self Care Workshop”, which focuses on tenets of positive psychology and self-compassion. Jen’s authentic leadership, warmth and curiosity foster a nurturing, safe space. 

The cost is $250 per individual session. Group sessions are available.

CHIROPODY AND PODIATRY

Vikaash Singh, BSc Kinesiology, D.Ch

Chiropodists complete seven years of post-secondary education before starting their chiropody career. A Chiropodist is a primary health care provider who provides a variety of medical services ranging from nail and skin care to orthotics and in-office soft tissue surgeries.

Vikaash’s journey in the field of Chiropody began at York University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Building upon this solid foundation, he pursued his passion for foot health by completing his Chiropody Certification at The Michener Institute, further enhancing his expertise in the field. Over the past five years, he has accumulated a wealth of experience, working in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, community health centres, and multi-disciplinary clinics. His diverse background has allowed him to interact with patients of all ages, from young children to elite athletes and seniors. Through his specialized knowledge and personalized treatment approaches, he has successfully helped his patients overcome foot-related challenges and assist them in maintaining their lifestyle.

Gary Rogers D.P.M. - Podiatric Surgeon and Bunion Specialist

Podiatrists have taken eight years of university-level education before beginning to practice as a podiatrist. Podiatrists then go through surgical training through a hospital-based residency program, totalling 8 to 12 years of education. A Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) is a highly trained specialist in care of the feet. Podiatrists and chiropodists are similar in that they are foot experts, but a podiatrist is a highly trained surgeon licensed in Ontario to perform osseous (bone) and soft tissue surgeries on the foot. There are less than 20 licensed podiatrists in Ontario. Podiatrists specialize in surgical issues affecting the forefoot, including bunions, osteoarthritis, neuromas, hammertoes, soft tissue lesions, and ganglion cysts.

Gary Rogers completed his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from The Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine and then his surgical residency at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He is board-certified with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Podiatrist with the Ontario College of Chiropodists. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine.

Karim Ravji D.P.M

Karim Ravji holds a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) and is a registered Chiropodist in Ontario specializing in both the surgical and non-surgical treatment of foot and ankle disorders. This includes foot soft tissue surgery, biomechanics, diabetes, dermatology, and infection prevention. He obtained a Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, followed by Graduate School in the US culminating in training and a surgical residency in the Department of orthopedics at Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation.

Jeffrey Liebman D.P.M., F.A.A.F.A.S

Jeffrey Liebman holds a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (DPM)  degree and is a Fellow of the Academy of Ambulatory Foot and Ankle Surgery. As a registered Podiatrist in Ontario he specializes in the surgical and non-surgical management of foot and ankle conditions. With more than 30 years of experience, his expertise includes conducting surgeries for foot disorders such as bunions, hammer toes, and toe arthritis. He is able to provide minimally invasive or open surgical procedures as required for the patients best interests.

PHYSIOTHERAPY

Cindy Li BScKin, MScPT

Cindy Li completed her master's degree in Physiotherapy from UofT after finishing her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at McMaster University. She is exceptionally active, having summited Mt. Kilimanjaro and is a triathlete. She takes a holistic approach to creating a personalized treatment plan. Her approach combines manual therapy techniques, education and strength and mobility exercises.

Jason Ngai MScPT

Jason completed his Master of Physical Therapy at Western University and earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science from York University. Growing up, he played a variety of sports, but his interest in human anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics truly blossomed when he discovered the weight room in high school. This passion led him to pursue a career as a personal trainer early on, eventually becoming a physiotherapist. He is also certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA, a certification widely regarded as the gold standard in the field.

Jason is committed to empowering his patients and working collaboratively to achieve their goals. He takes a holistic approach, creating personalized treatment plans that incorporate the latest evidence-based practices, focusing on identifying the root cause of each patient's concern. His treatments combine manual therapy techniques, patient education, and customized home exercise programs. Dedicated to lifelong learning, Jason is currently advancing his expertise in manual therapy, acupuncture, and dry needling. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys rock climbing, weightlifting, basketball, biking, and discovering new restaurants and cafés around the city.

Dr Kennedy Hindley DC

Doctors of chiropractic complete a minimum of 7 years of post-secondary education before becoming registered. Dr. Kennedy Hindley completed his degree in Kinesiology at The University of British Columbia. While at UBC Dr. Hindley played varsity soccer. He completed his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Canada.Utilizing current evidence based research, he combines strength and conditioning principles with contemporary rehabilitation to help his patients re-engage in meaningful activity. His core treatment interventions include: patient education, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and lifestyle advice.

Outside of work, Dr. Hindley enjoys running, lifting weights, playing sports, and spending time with family and friends.
