CIRCUMCISION

What is a Circumcision?

Circumcision is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of the foreskin, the fold of skin that covers the tip of the penis. This procedure has cultural, religious, and medical significance and is practiced in various parts of the world for different reasons. At Unify Health, our physicians and surgeons are experts at performing circumcisions. They perform these in our state-of-the-art facility which is a CPSO-approved Out of Hospital Premises.

What is an Out of Hospital Premises?

In Ontario, only surgical centers approved by the College of Physician and Surgeons of Ontario as a Out of Hospital Premises (OHP) are legally allowed to perform circumcisions. Unify Health is an Out of Hospital Premises (OHP) facility approved by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. This stringent regulation ensures that clinics meet the highest standards of sterilization, safety, and expertise required for all procedures.

What is the advantage of choosing an OHP-approved clinic for circumcision?

OHP-approved clinics like ours adhere to strict regulations and guidelines set by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. OHP-approved clinics have experience, safety equipment and staff who are appropriately trained in surgical procedures. This means that you can trust the quality, safety, and expertise of our medical professionals and the facility itself. The list of approved locations for surgeries such as circumcision in Ontario is listed here: https://clinics.cpso.on.ca.

Who will be performing the circumcision?

Our experienced and qualified medical physicians are responsible for performing circumcisions at our clinic. You can have confidence in the skills and knowledge of our healthcare team.  Physicians performing circumcisions at Unify Health have years of experience, and all practitioners completed the comprehensive simulation-based training and education course offered by Sick Kids Hospital to ensure they are up to date on the latest techniques.

What is the cost of circumcision?

The cost of Circumcision is not OHIP-covered. The cost is $499 and includes pre-procedure and post-procedure follow-up. Parking is free, and our clinic hours are flexible. Debit and all major credit cards are accepted. Please note a $100 charge for late cancellations or missed appointments.

Up to what age can my baby receive a circumcision?
